Patch: Normal Map
The normal map patch allows you to give your machines more detail (normal map) to your machine's stamps. This patch requires MachineCraft Premium to work, as stamps are only available with Premium.
Enabling
In the OPTION menu, select the MPatcher panel, and enable "NormalMapStamps"
Setting a normal Map
To set a normal map for a stamp, you need to make a new image, that has the name _normal
added to your stamp name, before the # symbol. Normal map stamps also need to be the same size as the original stamp.
If your stamp name is bricks#11.png
, your normal map stamp would be named bricks_normal#11.png
Once the normal map is in the _images
folder, loading your machine in practice mode should display it on any stamps you have. A .mcpd
file will also be generated, which stores settings for the normal map.
In the BUILD mode "Advanced" tab, there will also be a setting to configure how Smooth or Metallic the normal map appears, with a button to preview how it might look.
Disabling the normal Map
The normal map can be disabled by disabling the patch in the OPTION menu, or by deleting the associated .mcpd
and .png
files for the normal map.
